Privacy

When you request an invite

We keep only what you type into the form:

  • Your email, so we can send your invite.
  • Your first name, if you give it.
  • Who you'd do this with, if you tell us.

We also note the date, and keep a scrambled code made from your internet address so we can stop someone flooding the form. It can't be turned back into the address, and we use it for nothing else.

We'll only use your email to send your invite. No newsletters, and we never sell or share it. If you'd like your request deleted, ask us and we'll remove it.

Family stories are private by default

  • Recordings, transcripts, photos and notes belong to your family. Nothing is public.
  • Only the people your family invites can see them, and you choose who can listen to recordings and read transcripts.
  • Recording only starts once the person telling the stories has agreed on their own phone.
  • They can say something is private, skip any question, and remove things from their story. You can delete things too.
  • Libby never asks for passwords, PINs, account numbers or Social Security numbers.

No selling, no ad tracking

We don't sell your information or your family's stories, and we don't use them for advertising. This site has no ads, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The fonts are served from our own site.

Only signed-in family members get a cookie, and it's there to keep them signed in. A phone set up for the storyteller gets one too, so it opens straight to their screens.

Who helps us run LifeMaps

A few services do work for us: Vercel hosts the site, Supabase stores the data (in the United States), and ElevenLabs runs Libby's voice conversations for families who use the app. We share with them only what they need to do that work.
